Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I apply ?
A: Click here for the application form!!

Q: When will I know if I’ve been accepted?
A: Runners will be notified as soon as possible. Last year we notified most folks within 24 hours of receiving their application. We filled our slots pretty quickly last year, so don’t wait!

Q: How much money will I have to raise.
A: The contribution is set at $500.

Q: What is done with the money I raise?
A: The funds are used to support the fight against pediatric brain tumors, and to support quality of life programs for the kids and their families who are battling this terrible disease. The Marine Corps Marathon fundraiser is the primary source of funding for the Foundation’s Family Assistance effort, providing funds to families in need.

Q: What happens if I don’t make my fundraising goal?
A: The Friends4Michael Foundation operates on the Honor Principle for fundraising. In return for your slot, tee shirt, pasta party and on-course support, we, in turn, expect each of our runners to make an honest, good faith effort to raise the funds. We do not require a credit card number, nor do we revoke your slot if you come up a little short. If it is obvious that you haven’t really made an effort to meet your goal, you will not be considered for inclusion in next year’s race as a Foundation runner.
